Worse answers could have included "my boss was a jerk" or "my fellow employees were idiots" or something else of that nature. Answers like that might flag you as a possibly difficult employee. Your own personal story shows that you worked through problems in a creative way, and the fact that you and your husband are still together says you hung in there when things got rough.
